He's go short black hair and easily excitable dark brown eyes. He smiles easily, and his smile has often been described as charming, if somewhat lopsided. The way he moves, jerkily-graceful is probably one of the most noticeable things about him besides his smile. the personality likes • Good food (chicken wings!), Places and people that are accepting, Swords, Learning about people, His friends dislikes • Being lonely, Places and people that are not accepting, Bitter and sour things, Horror films strengths • Intelligent, Friendly, Sociable, Lively, Funny weaknesses • Nervous, Bad at expressing important feelings, Prone to saying really stupid things dreams • Being able to live happily and safely surrounded by his friends, constantly learning new and interesting things fears • Ghosts, Being attacked for who/what he is overall personality • Jingyi is bright and lively with a tendency to stick his foot in his mouth. He makes friends easily, flirts easily, and really struggles with talking about his deeper emotions. He's afraid of the repercussions of people finding out about his sexuality (though less so in the US) and about being laughed at for being afraid of ghosts (and the subsequent dislike of horror films). He doesn't like people underestimating him because he's very very young to be a freshman in college, but he simultaneously loves shocking people with how competent he is as a student. Granted, he makes up for it by not being exactly competent at being a person all the time, but he's working on that. the history father • Lan Qingbo, 45, doctor mother • Liu Meilan, 44, pharmacist uncle (technically, father's cousin) • Lan Qiren, 44*, philosophy professor* cousin • Lan Xichen, 24*, graduate student* cousin • Lan Wangji, 19, student (junior) friend • Lan Sizhui (A-Yuan), 16, student hometown • Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China; moved to Palo Alto, CA when he was 13 overall history • Lan Jingyi grew up a pretty normal for a Lan kid, which made him not a terribly normal Lan. He was friendly, athletic, and very very good at school, getting accelerated more than one grade at the international school he attended in Hangzhou throughout his childhood. Like most Lan's, he was taught martial arts, meditation, and the religious basics and background to understand his past life memories. When he was thirteen, Jingyi realized he was bi, got found out for being bi, got beaten up for it, and got shipped to his Uncle in California in the span of approximately a month and a half. He arrived in Palo Alto shaken, but determined to make the best of his situation. He settled in OK to the international school he attended in the Bay Area for the rest of high school, not making a ton of friends at school because he was three grades above where he was expected to be by his age, but he did make friends with A-Yuan in his neighborhood. Around the same time he met A-Yuan, he also got all of his memories pretty clearly all at once. This wasn't a huge surprise, but it was a lot to process. He'd been being told it would happen eventually, but it made him latch on to A-Yuan even harder because they were clearly destined to be best friends. He idolizes his older cousins, especially Lan Wangji, and decided that he would follow Lan Wangji's path in living in the dorms for college to exist outside of Lan Qiren's strict household (where he was kind of constantly getting in trouble, though Lan Wangji did tend to cover him). the role player alias • Etienne age • 30 pronouns • he/him code • chenqing which version did you see • novel/drama other characters • Lan Wangji |
